Loss of defined line spacing and background colour since recent update

Greetings

The last two updates seem to have corrupted background colour in writer - that which has been set in the previous version is impossible to remove in later, and, when using later versions background colour cannot be saved. I have also just noticed that line spacing, set in the edit paragraph window, also will not stay after the document is closed and reopened. I am currently using version 4.4.3.2

Any help, such an alternative way of setting line spacing, would be welcomed.

Both problems appear in Writer.

I’ve not used Open Office for my documents, (I only use LO), and I have not changed palettes (wouldn’t know how!).

Glad this is not a global problem, but still at a loss as to know what to do.

Do you save in .odt format or do you use an alien format like .docx?

Cannot reproduce your statement on line-spacing. Here are the steps taken just now:-

  1. 451pp document LO-4.4.3.2 under Debian 6.0
  2. Menu: Format Paragraph Indents & Spacing set line-spacing from default of ‘single’ to 1.5 lines
  3. Press OK
  4. Press Ctrl+S (save) + close document
  5. Re-open + navigate back to same page; changes have held
  6. Revert to single-space & repeat save, etc.
  7. Reversions have held.

When using background colour in what?

The document from top was originally created in OpenOffice; I’ve made changes to background colour in both characters & paragraphs. Both have been possible, and both sets of changes have been effective. The LO community would have gone berserk if that were not possible.

Custom colour names in my doc were not passed between OO & LO (I changed OS as well as App), though the colours themselves are preserved. LO has recently changed the default palette layout, but not the colours within that palette.

Is your problem the loss of non-default palette entries? I cannot confirm any of the problems that you report.

Okay, I have tried creating a fresh file, and dropping my existing text into it, and have the same problems. However Open Office accepts my old file, and performs perfectly. No idea what the difference, or cause, is but need to get this project finished, so will continue on that tack for now.
