The entire sheet has background color, that cell's background color disappers after cutting a certain cell

Libreoffice 4.3.7.2 and the module is Calc. WIndows 7 enterprise sp1 64bits.

I put the background color on a sheet and input data in a certain cell, then I tried to cut that cell and found the background color disappeared for that cell.

Hi

I guess you have selected cells by clicking the intersection of the row headers and column and then applied color. The solution would have been to change the default style.

  1. Display the style window (Sidebar or menu Format or F11)
  2. Display the Cell Styles (default display)
  3. Right click Default Modify

I would like to emphasize that changing background color to all the cells will affect printing…

Thanks and yes, I clicked the gray box beside column A to select all cells , then clicked the background color from the tool bar and found that cell’s background color turned into white after cutting a certain cell. Thanks for your quick answer, but I still don’t understand what the difference is…

@lolax - LibreOffice is designed for using styles. Apply a color to the selected cells as you do, do not change the default style. By analogy, if you name a sheet “Foo”, the next created by default will take the name “Sheet2” and not “Foo”. If you want to change the default color must change the default style as said.
