Previously saved writer documents with graphics open but without displaying graphic. Just an empty box with "graphic" displayed at the corner

The graphic shows up in the print preview screen and the recent documents screen, but does not appear in the document when opened for editing. Thanks for any help.

Please verify it's not disable: Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice writer/View - Display - Graphics and objects.

But should I grumble? Upon doing an update of LibreOffice this flag seems to have been unset without asking or informing me. I have been doing my head in wondering what was wrong with my Java (which is all the indication of probable causes I got when I prodded around) and I have only just found this helpful answer! All well now.
