I recently updated from 4.2.3 to LO runs on an Ubuntu 14.04.2 64 bit platform. After the update I noticed two main changes I do not care for and apparently cannot reverse:

1) in Tools> Options> LibreOffice> General, the Use LibreOffice Dialogs has absolutely no effect whatsoever. It is basically inactive although one can check and uncheck the box and that selection is conserved.

2) Under the Ubuntu Unity's standard, LO-Writer (for instance) has for main menu entries:

File Edit View Insert Format Table Tools Window Help

hidden except when the pointer hovers over the window title bar. That rule is broken and now these menu items show permanently below the Window title bar, wasting an unfathomable 6mm of vertical real estate space on my display. This holds for all modules within my LO install.

Can I fix 1) and 2) ? Tx.
