Can we hope that table styles will be implemented soon in LibreOffice Writer?

I guess the title says it all. At a minimum, consider giving the user the possibility to set a default value for the tables left margin. Currently this is set to the pages left margin, which is just a pain to handle, when creating templates.

You’ll be glad to know that LibreOffice 5.3 now has table styles.

Hi

You are right @leooel. It would be very useful. The request was already made and work begun (e.g. gsoc).

I do not know the status … or if it still advance.

A temporary solution is to use AutoText to insert a table presented according to your needs. Documentation about AutoText in 3-Working with Text here.

Hi leooel

I’m using LO-4.4.3.2 & by default have access to 3 sets of Table Styles:

  1. Table Contents (paragraph style, which allows exactly what you are asking for)
  2. Parameters (also paragraph; inherits from above)
  3. Table Heading (yet another paragraph style, also inherits from 1st style)

Am I missing something?

You can not set a default style for a table, when you design templates. I want my table to align with the bread text style I chose. I my case 5 picas intended from the left side page margin. Every time I create a table it will align with the left side page margin, and there’s no cure for that IMHO.
