Creating Macros in LibreOffice

Hi,
Is there a quick and easy way of creating new macro’s in LibreOffice similar to the way one can in MS-Word, i.e., via ‘Start and Stop recording new macro’ without having to open and write or generate the Visual Basic code? In MS-Word one only has to assign a name and short cut command, and then perform the different steps required of the macro in an active .doc file for the code to be generated automatically in Visual Basic. (I don’t think I can live without y macro’s.) Please help.
