Sqlite driver for Mac OS X and other OSs

A simplified native driver exists but only for Windows and Linux and version 1.1.
I think it could be very useful to bring the now alpha version of this driver to Mac OS X, but mainly to enhance and update this old version. SQLite is really needed as a personal database manager and data exchange medium.
