Setting page numbers in version 3.6.1.2

I prepare minutes of monthly meetings of our church using Writer. The page numbers must be consecutive through the year so I need to be able to set the starting page number of each set of minutes. The help file describes the process and this works provided I save the file as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 i.e file name.doc. If I save the file as Microsoft Word 2007/2010 XML (i.e. file name.docx)the page numbering resets to 1 after the file is saved and reloaded. What am I doing wrong?

I can reproduce this with LO 3.6.1.2 and Win7 64 bit; i will test it using Linux, but it seems to be a bug in the docx import filter. MS Office shows the “correct”, modified page number, LO doesn’t.
