"format cells" freezes spreadsheet in Windows 10

I tried formatting cells in new and old documents using LibO spreadsheets after upgrading to Windows 10 - it causes Spreadsheet to stop responding. I’ve upgraded to LibO 5.0 - same problem. Is this a bug? Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi orffull

lo-5 on win10 sounds like a nightmare from all the bug reports.

LO-5 is from LibreOffice Fresh & as such may be buggy. You need to get used to using Bugzilla (or the Bug Assistant).

One alternative is to use LibreOffice Still (more stable, less exciting).

Hi @Alex2, I’m not too agree about the nightmare, I think most problems come from user rights in Win10, not LibreOffice issues. BTW LibreOffice 5 is for me the most stable Fresh version.

I’m sure that you are correct, @mariosv, but it’s academic:- the evidence from ask.libo is that the combo of lo5+win10 is a nightmare. Not good.

We must remember that in Ask, we only see people with issues, but not how many people running LibreOffice nicely.

True again. Sigh. Still… DON’T PANIC! The issue does seem to be:- can the LO developers get to grips with the changes in Windows since XP? The answer seems to be ‘not yet’ and (Gordon Bennett!) XP was an awful long time ago. I am anxious to hear news to the contrary.
