I HAVE [Connected via SDBC Driver] ACCESS TO LIBRE BASE; VERSION 4.4.5.2; BUT I CANNOT ADD ANY NEW FIELDS TO ANY OBJECTS.

[edit: added lo4 + win7 tags]

I have edited the question to clarify that the LO database is connected via SDBC driver to MS Access, meaning that Access/the driver is providing back-end functions.

the database was emailed offline. Since I do not have the back-end Access mdb I only receive a message when opening that LO cannot open the back end. There are no objects saved in the LO database front end, and all of the menu commands that would provide for those functions are greyed-out, meaning they are inactive.

Without the Access database it is not possible to test. As this may be commercially sensitive (from the db name) can you get a copy of the Access db with all data removed posted here - just the empty tables?

I don’t know of a way to directly convert an MS Access database to a LO Base database.

Do not see any database attached to this post.

You can create a Base database and create an ODBC connection to an Access database. This will allow you to see the Tables in the Access database but you cant see the Forms, Queries, or Reports in the Access database. You can modify the design or create new tables and carry out data entry on the attached Access Tables. You can create Forms, Queries, and Reports in the Base database to operate on the Access Tables. Any changes you make to the Tables will of course be modifying the Access database, If you wish to have a stand alone version of the Access database you can create another Base database, not linked to the Access one, and with both open copy the Tables from the Access linked one to the stand alone one.

To change the size of the form on the screen open the Form in edit mode, drag the sides to the size you require, and click on Save when you close it.
