Printing a complex multi-column doc with images to a sheet of labels

I want to print labels, where there are multiple labels per sheet. What makes my challenge unique is that I want to print a complex document with multiple columns and images and delicate formatting to each label.

To imagine what I am doing, think of the product labels you see on retail products sitting on a store shelf. It could be a food or a cosmetic or a packaged toy. Or anything. Product labels have different sections, several images, and complex formatting. This is what has to be printed onto each label, multiple labels per sheet.

When I have tried using the label template, I was not able to set the proper column and margin formatting options so that the document would be properly formatted on each label.

I also need to edit the original document every few days, so the process of generating labels from it needs to be easy to set up and replicate.

For complex label printing it might be better to use a program specifically designed for label printing. Avery, who produce a wide range of labels, provide a free program for label printing. It includes bar codes and a serial number field which you asked about in another post.

Does the Avery program run under Linux?

if it is for windows then you can try running under Wine. See link.
