Why does LibreOffice for OS X crash after Insert-Image attempt?

Both Fresh and Still versions crash after selecting Insert-Image, even in a new, blank document.
Platform: MacBook Air, OS X 10.11, 1.8Gig Intel i5, 4Gig DDR3.

There is a very good chance that the reason is the OpenGL/OpenCL bug ( see reply to Q64314).
