Merging writer docs with endnotes

I have made a translation , each chapters separately. Every chapter has it’s own endnotes . I need to produce a complete , unified text and make some linguistic, style and other corrections in it.

My problem is, that I have used the copy-paste method and as a result, all end notes of different chapters follow the first document , instead of remaining connected to their own chapter (s).

I use the Libre Office 5 version , however my anchor submenu is not functioning ( disabled ) nor at the cases of original chapters , nor the unified one. Tried to change settings, without any results. I suppose some extension(s) is missing …

Thanks a lot, in advance , bests, Sándor

Endnotes by convention are gathered at the end of the document. You can, I believe, do what you want by dividing your document into sections and importing the sections into a document. Then you can have the endnotes at the end of each section. If you have the original chapters you could insert those into a new document, using INSERT > SECTION and then use Filename or a DDE command. You can then choose to put the endnotes at then of each section and control the numbering of each section.

LibO 5.1 is not yet a production system. If you have problems with it you might be better off using 4.4… Peter

Hi Peter,
