Libre Office 5. spellcheck fails

LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 spellcheck is not working
Windows 7 SP1,
Language is English (USA) both system and LibreOffice.
I tried the various spellcheck tools and switches.
I found that if I went to Tools>Options>reset the spellcheck came on and works correctly.
