optimal row height

Using Calc it seems to me that at one point selecting “optimal row height” was dynamic after selecting all cells for that feature along with cell wrapping. I have tried repeatedly to get this set but to no avail. I have to select the optimal row height after the fact of exceeding the expansion of data into a cell. All rows with empty data have been removed. What do I need to do to set this automatic optimization or at least let me know if I am a victim of my own imagination?

Using version 5.0.3.2 with Windows 7.
Set optimal row height and word wrap and it seems to perform as you describe you would like.

I’ve solved the problem cleaning the cell style and apply again but I don’t know exactly how automatic row heigth works.
