I am having numerous crashes of Libre Writer

I am using a Toshiba laptop 64-bit with 8gb of memory, running Windows 10 Home. I have pretty simple needs with regards to Libre Writer, at least, I think I do. Recently I have been copying some free crochet patterns off the internet and pasting them into a Writer document and then saving them as docx files. That sounds pretty simple to me. But Writer crashes 3 or 4 times per day. I rarely have more than 4 documents open at once. Frequently, but not always, the crashes occur when I’m pasting something into a document. Then Writer recovers the files that were open and they are okay. However, I prefer not to have the crashes occur. Any ideas or suggestions how I might prevent that from happening? Thanks for your help.

There are currently several open bugs relating to crashing under Windows 10 e.g., tdf#97051. This is not paste-action specific though.

Usually it’s enough renaming/deleting the file “user/registrymodifications.xcu”, it affect all the options in Menu/Tools/Options, and the files “user/basic/dialog.xlc” and “scrip.xlc” are overwritten, additionally custom colors in “user/config/standard.soc” are lost.
