LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 reliably corrupting ODT files

Hi,

Using Windows 7 in a corporate environment. At least once a day, sometimes several times a day LibreOIffice refuses to open a file, often one I was just editing and had just saved. I will receive the message:

Read-Error.
Format error discovered in the file in sub-document content.xml at 2,11476(row,col

The backup file is also corrupted.

I’ve tried various document recovery tips suggested online in the OOo and LO forums and they don’t work.

It would be nice if LibreOffice was smart enough to get past this error and either repair the file, highlighting changes, or open the file for manual repair.

It is clear to me that LibreOffice itself is corrupting these files. They were just open, being edited, and saved normally. Yet when trying to re-open them immediately after saving, the error is thrown.

Thanks.

Rich

UPDATE: Extracting the Content.xml file from the ODT archive, and opening it in Word 2016 generates the error: “Duplicate attribute” at line 2, column 1212.
