Index table not clickable

I’ve got a Writer document that has two tables of contents. The first is based on “Outline”, and picks up Headings. It is clickable.

I went through the same process to create a Table based on Index entries, and created an index entry for it to pick up. It picked it up fine and displays it, but it is not clickable.

From what I can see all settings between the two tables are the same. What am I missing?

I find the ToC dialog very opaque, and found it impossible to amend the settings of the index entry once it was created. Indeed, making that attempt froze LO, and the system with it, requiring a hard shutdown. But I think these are peripheral issues to my immediate problem.

Thanks.

To make sure differences in the Table of Contents were not an issue, I created a ToC that hit on both headings and index entries. The ToC caught both items, but only the heading was clickable. Evidently index items cannot be made clickable in a ToC.

I’ve also had a couple of crashes of the Index Entry dialog - crashes that took down the whole system. I found a bug recently filed on that (same version I’m using, 5.0.4.2) and added my details to it.

Hi

These “feature limitations” are inherited from OOo. There are several bug report on these topics.

I myself had created the one for your comment.

AFAIK the redesign of the creative dialog is under review…

Thanks, Pierre. I hadn’t thought to check for registered bugs first. Good way to save time.
