How Can I Keep The First Row In LibreOffice Calc Remain On Top When Scrolling?

I would like to know if there is an option where you can keep the first row in the spreadsheet to remain on top even when scrolling downwards or upwards. Because I am creating a Price List for our company and we have a lot of brands with many SKUs, so filtering is a must. However, if I am in the bottom of the spreadsheet and I need to filter a product brand quickly, I will have to keep scrolling back up to the top in order to click on the arrow and filter. I hope you consider this feature in the next update. Thx (-:

The search term you are looking for is "freeze". Related help page here.

You can easily control this with the tool in the upper right corner of the inner display. First image below shows a spreadsheet in its normal state. The second shows it with the tool pulled down to keep rows 1-4 always visible as you move the lower pane's elevator up and down.

split pane display

There is a similar tool in the lower right corner that allows a vertical split to provide a columnar separation.

Unfortunately the help page mentioned by @oweng does not yet (2016-02-17) cope with the differences between versions caused by recent changes in V5.x. I had to take some time myself to find the 'Freeze' option in its new location:

'View' > 'Freeze Rows and Columns'

I should have consulted the offline help. It is already updated with this respect.

In addition the appearance of the split rulers in the standard view was changed.
(Also some very important items were moved / duplicated to the new 'Sheet' item of the main menu. Threads expected.)

I should have cited that I was using 4.3.2.2 on Win 7. Perhaps, per @Lupp, that tool is no longer in where I show it.

@JKEngineer: The splitters are in unchanged position. I did not want to depreciate your answer. I only updated Owen's completion to the answer with respect to the 'Freeze' option.

Thanks for pointing this out. Ideally, answers should (where possible) link related help page. Unfortunately, the numerous versions of LO, combined with UI changes, mean that official documentation is lagging further and further behind. This case in point is illustrative of why TDF is looking to rework the online help. Sigh. Big, complex projects have correspondingly big, complex workloads.
