from Index of /libreoffice/old there are too many versions… which one should I choose for v.4? I have windows 8 - 64 bits… tks!
This is 32 bit, I do not think 64 bit was not available in ver 4.
Why provide a link to a version early in the v4.x series? Later series/releases are better i.e. v4.4.7.2.

For v4.x you are going to have to install an x86 (rather than x86_64) version. Try the latest release candidate from the v4.4 series here.
