Writer doesn't remember page styles

I’m starting a paper for university and I usually first create 4 pages separated by breaks: First is the title page, then a index-formatted page which is going to be the index, followed by a standard-formatted page which is going to evolve into the main text body and lastly another index-formatted page which is going to contain the references. Well I double clicked on the style with the cursor on the corresponding page for each of them but the choice is not remembered by Writer. When I close the document and open it again the styles are are all set to index. I’m on Mint 17.3 with libreoffice 5.0.3.2. installed.

Edit: It works if I use a template when I’m creating the page brake but it doesn’t work (i.e. remember my choice) when I set the style after creating the break. Of course I had to set the style for the first page manually after creating the first break and that seems to work. It’s still set to “first page” after closing and reopening the document.

Set page style boundaries (and thus the page style itself) via manual break. The double click method will apply a page style to all pages from the current page onwards in the document until a manual break is encountered.
