Prevent LibreOffice process from getting stuck

Hello,
we recently switched about 30 PCs from old OpenOffice to the newest LibreOffice 5.1 and some users started complaining that their documents wont open. I traced the issue to the LO processes getting stuck when a user opens a multiple documents too fast or tries to open the same document second time when its taking long time to load. After the first process is stuck, each time a user open a document it just creates another stuck process and you have to kill them all to make LO work again. When you look in task manager there is a lot of soffice.bin, soffice.exe, writer, calc etc processes.

How can this be fixed? How is this bug even in stable release?

I’m experiencing this with Libre 5.3 on Win 10 64-bit. Stops file opening after multiple Libre Office (32-bit) and Libre Office Calc (32-bit) background tasks. This was a fresh install of Libre Office on a new Win 10 machine.,

I’m curious, what process did you go through in order to remove the old version of OpenOffice before upgrading to LibreOffice? I wonder if there are some components that are causing a conflict…

I just uninstalled it. Is there something I should do to remove completely?
Its not just me that gets this problem. Ive searched google and there are other people having this problem with either OO or LO. I have not found a solution yet.

Maybe you can try something like Revo Uninstaller which searches for related components to software you’d like to uninstall. My thought process on this is that maybe the default uninstaller isn’t catching something that could be causing conflict. If it were me, I’d try uninstalling LO with Revo (or similar software), then Reinstalling OO, Uninstalling OO (using Revo), then installing LO again to see if the issue is resolved.

Sorry, notmebug, but you are mis-informed; 5.1.1 is NOT a stable release, but rather is a Beta-release. 5.0.5 is supposed to be a stable (production-quality) release, but, as shown in my reply to Q65745, it would probably be better to ascribe that name to 4.4.7 currently.
