Arial regular font looks weird in Writer

Hi there,

Arial font look weird (or is replaced) in Writer documents. Unfortunately, I’m not able to attach a .pdf files (few points).

This is not happening when using the font in bold or italic. It’s a problem that I’ve seen since quite some time now. Anyway, the image refers to this version of LO:

Version: 5.1.1.3
Build ID: 5.1.1.3 Arch Linux build-2
CPU Threads: 4; OS Version: Linux 4.4; UI Render: GL;
Locale: it-IT (it_IT.UTF-8)

Any ideas? Thanks.

You could take a screen shot, save to (e.g.) Imgur, and post a link?

Also, please edit the wuestion to include the output of:

$ fc-match -v 'Arial' | grep 'family:'

And don’t post a question as wiki - that way you will never get any karma.

The font listed in the fonts pull-down box is the font the document is calling for - it is not necessarily the font being used to display or print the document.

If the font being called for not installed on the PC, the operating system will silently substitute a different font which is installed.

Ok, to fix the problem is simple, in the terminal input this command (fc-list Arial) and appears one list of arial relations on or computer, if you look careful, is in the list other fonts installed with the same relations with arial font, you need to delete this files in the system fonts, the path is in the terminal list. If you are more fonts with the same problem make the solution for arial font.
Good work.
