How to install the latest stable LibreOffice with a PPA in Ubuntu without the release candidates?

Adding ppa:libreoffice/ppa () leads to having release candidates on our system, which are not stable.

I have also noticed some discrepancies between the packages released by this PPA and the official packages available here for download. For example, the latter installs a long list of libobasis5.1* packages which are not available in the PPA.

Also, this PPA installs old java runtime, 7u95, which has many security flaws.
The latest java release is 8u77…
FYI, “Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE 8 users upgrade to this release.”
On my system:
javac -version
javac 1.8.0_77

Anyone has another suggestion?

Hallo

try ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-5-0 instead ppa:libreoffice/ppa

Thanks for your answer, but:

  • it does not provide the latest stable release (5.1.1 so far)
  • it does provide RCs
  • there is the same issue with the old dangerous java dependencies
  • it does not provide all the libobasis5.x* packages…

Same remarks (except the first bullet) for ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-5-1
