How do I insert/attach a file "as a file" into libreoffice.

Hi,

I would like to insert a complete PDF file into a LibreOffice document, if I do insert >> file >> pdf.pdf it opens and pastes the complete file into the doc. I need to “attach” the full file as is, without it opening into the document…

You can do this from the menu Insert->Hyperlink. This is using v4.4.7.2. I mention this because in v5.1.x many menu items have been moved ( ie: maybe from Insert to Edit or even to a submenu). From there you can set up the link to your document (as well as other items) with text (I believe you have to right click the resulting text & select open) or a push button. This creates a link which can open the other document.

Thanks I wasn’t able to do this, but did the following as a workaround.

I was able to import it as an ole object by firstly exporting the file which was originally a excel doc from a xls file to ods file, once I did this I could scale down the speadsheet as I needed. Not perfect but got me sorted.
