Hello, I’m using LO to write some document that contain Chapters, Figures, Tables, Appendix, etc. I need have one format for cross reference tables in the Chapters and other format for tables in Appendix.
For example:
Tables Chapter are numbered: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.
But when I choose field format for tables in appendix for A.1, A.2, … the tables inside chapter change to 1.1.1, 1.1.2,…
How can I solve this issue?

Does using outline numbering for the body and appendices headings as suggested in the answer here help with table caption numbering?
EDIT: Example ODT and corresponding PDF (rename once downloaded from JPG, as PDF uploads are not allowed). It illustrated table captions renumbering by chapter, using a two-tiered outline numbering identifier i.e., the workaround method linked above. The key is to set the table numbering field to the lowest outline numbering level used. In the example, levels 1-3 are used for main body headings, and levels 6-8 are used for appendix headings. The table field is thus set to use level 8. This can be tricky to retrofit to an existing document containing numerous tables with captions, each with a numbering field. I found it easiest to start from scratch, define one table (with caption) for the main body and appendix, and then copy each as required.
Thanks… I tried that but I cannot get field number for tables A.1, A.2. I change the heading format, I add it to content table styles and I also change field level but I didn’t get the result spected.

Hello, again! I check your odt file and that I want, but when I try to reproduce I cannot get that the styles for apendix start on level 6, are starting from level 1.
