writer 5.0.5.2 and copy/paste : failure, no paste

hello,
I use Win10 64 bits.
This sequence is working :
I open two documents odt with writer 5
i copy a text from a document odt and paste in other another document odt
This sequence is also working :
I open a document odt with writter 5 and open Notepad in Windows, and tape some text in notepad
i copy this text from notepad and paste it in the document odt

But this sequence in not working :
I open two documents odt with writer 5
i copy a text from a document odt and paste in other another document odt
I open Notepad in Windows, and tape some text in notepad
i copy this text from notepad and paste in the one document odt
bug : The text from Notepad is not paste in odt. Amasing, the text from writter is pasted.

Actually, i quite writer and re-open document. It’s not friendly !
What can i do to get the good text when i clic “paste” ?

On WIN10 build 19041.329 Base froze using CTRL+C. Even using Microsoft software I always use paste special > unformatted for obvious reasons. Perhaps Windows is doing to the shortcut keys what they did with the underscore key in Word. The other software open at the time was Nirsoft’s Hash My Files - which also froze simultaneously. Perhaps it’s time to leave CTRL+C behind in Windows.

Not to highjack Noel blanc, but I’m using 5.1.0.3 and also can’t paste. What gives? Only if I paste in Notepad first, plain, can I get text to Writer. Using Windows 7 Pro (64b). Currently I’m grabbing text from online.

I fail to understand why anything on the clipboard is not recognized by Writer. The file is new, no odd permissions, not locked. What could cause this? Is this problem in any way related to Noel’s Notepad text not pasting?

There is a Bug report filed #97124.
Additionally, another interesting Bug report suggests other software may cause some of these problems #62196

I personally have not been able to replicate this in v4.4.7.2 or v5.1.1.3 on a Linux system.

hello, more information on my test.
"other software may cause some of these problems " : yes !
Actually the browser edge presence disrupts the Clipboard.
In my test (first post) i was copying from the edge browser to Notepad. And then I was copying from Notepad into Writer. This is to eliminate html formatting.
And if I close edge, then the contents of the Clipboard is correct in Writer.
Bug or not, close edge or writer : not good for me !
Writer is a good, a very good program. But everyone copy/paste …

I do not see a bug report specifically dealing with MS Edge (relatively new product). It would be helpful to all if you could file a bug report with your specifics. See this page under the section ‘Bugs’. Also please post comment with Bug # so others may know this has been reported.
