Libre Office Text Orientation

Hi guys,

I’ve recently updated to Libre 5.1.2.2 from Open Office, so I would assume all settings are on default.

Before with Open Office I had spreadsheets with some texts going up at 90degs for headings, etc. Now, I didn’t seem to be able to get this right with Libre Calc. I’ve looked at YouTube vids and Libre Wiki and did exactly as I was told, but nothing changes.

I select the cell, then open up Format - Cell - Alignment. Then change the number to, say, 90 or 180 or whatever, but to no avail. All other options on this page are on “default” and everything else is unticked. Regardless of what number I enter, it always stays the same. Tried this with old files, where it worked (when opening with Open Office they still go up, with Libre they don’t) and also tried this with new files. The texts never go up 90 degs :frowning:

Any ideas?

Thanks so much for your help

Bug tdf#99204 may be related. Try turning off OpenGL (refer comment 4 in the report).

that was it. it works. THANK YOU

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Lab report due tomorrow, this fixed 20 of my figures with vertical titles. Quite a nasty bug.

For more information, I just shared my screen with someone else and when they do it, it works. It just doesn’t work when I do it on my computer. It’s a Windows 10, so fairly new. We do exactly the same thing and get different results. I tried uninstalling Libre and reinstalling 5.1.3, but the same issue occurs, but only on my Libre. How can this be?
