I want to darken the gridlines on a spreadsheet and cannot find how yo do this. I found a YouTube video but it was not helpful as there was no audio and the instructor proceeded way too quickly.
Any help much appreciated.

Tools > Options > Application Colors (OSX: Preferences > LibreOffice > Application Colors). Scroll down to “Spreadsheet” and the first option should be “Grid lines”. Pick a new color from the drop-down list and you’re good to go.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for your response. I have build 5.0.5.2 and under Preferences, LibreOffice I cannot find Application Colors anywhere.
How do I solve this problem?
Thanks for your help.
In 5.0.5 the option is Appearance
Undoubtedly too late to help @jacmac48 but I had the same problem. By accident I came across the answer for my version of LibreOffice (v5.0.6.3).
For Windoze Tools > Options… > LibreOffice > Appearance
Scroll down the Custom Colours to find your particular application (Spreadsheet) and change the Grid colour setting to one you like. bd
in LO Version: 5.1.6.2 the menu/path is:
"Tools : Options... : LibreOffice Calc : View : Visual Aids : Color "
