Libreoffice crashes if I leave my laptop unattended without saving before I stand up. Why is this and what is the answer?

I use the word processing function only. The software is also slow to open and save large documents. Is Windows 10 sabotaging me? It did not happen when I used Windows 8.

Has the computer gone into sleep mode? Some machines don’t handle this well. Try disabling sleep mode (use screen saver or hibernate instead?) and see if that helps.
