How to create left line border? (not paragraph border)

Hi all, new to libreoffice. Like it very much. However, I need to have left border for each line of all my text. I can make a left paragraph border but i don’t know how to create a border based on the left most text on every line. For example, when I am using numbering. I need the border to be drawn according the the left most text, not the margin. For illustration:

What I can do in writer (paragraph border):

Also, is there a bar tab stop as in the microsoft office word? Can it be implemented in libreoffice?

Thanks a lot

look into format / bullets and numbering / position

LibO shows nicely how it will look like

I have played with format/bullets and numbering/position but still can’t find a solution for the paragraph border. The paragraph border always follow the left most indent (if the first line indent in to the right of before text indent, the left paragraph border is following the before text indent and vice versa).

Is there any other solution? thanks.

on a given style, can use border settings to set line on left side. Ie maybe have to modify 5-10 styles to be consistent

you could try spoofing this with change bars…or…maybe with line numbering

Other ideas that come to mind may be too complicated

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try playing with styles and see the results.
