Install problems on OS X El Capitan

Hi all!

I tried to install the latest version of LibreOffice a couple days ago on my Mac Mini but something is not working correctly. The Mini is late 2011, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive, latest version of OS X El Capitan.

When it comes to the window where one is to drag the LibreOffice icon to the Applications icon/folder it will not drag over. I’m not using a mouse to drag the icon to the Applications icon; I’m dragging it by using 3 fingers on the trackpad.

I end up with an icon on my desktop but the Applications folder does not show LibreOffice in it. I click on the icon on the desktop and LibreOffice goes through a lengthy verification procedure before the product actually appears on the screen. I have to do this every time I want to use LibreOffice.

Any idea why this is happening? Is there a fix for my issue?

Thanks in advance!

Dave

What happens when you drag it over with 1 finger by pressing and holding in the track pad and dragging that way ?
