does libreoffice support apache openoffice files?

The spelling checker in apache is fraught with problems. At the moment on my comp it is not working at all. Would like to down load libreoffice and transfer my documents in hopes of getting rid of this problem. Is your spell checker reliable?

I haven’t had any problems with the uk english one. You can try it and see. if it doesn’t work out, you are no worse off.
Something to be aware of…
As you can change the language of a document, you need to make sure you have a dictionary for the language your document is using, or else it will not be doing any spell-checking.

Tim,
Thanks ever so much for your reply. Second question:Does Libreoffice support Apache Openoffice Write files??

If the dictionary is the problem, change the dictionary. LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice are developed differently and have different default settings, but they stemmed from the same tree (not a long ago). They are still very similar/interchangeable. They both save by default in the same format (ODF), there are some internal extensions, but that’s nitpicking.
