calc autofilter

I’m having trouble with autofilter on spreadsheet. It does not select all the records it should. On some it is the first few and on others it is the last few. Also on some columns there is no records shown in the autofilter box. Can you help please?
I’ve downloaded the latest version of Libre.
Last year it worked fine.
thanks
Davey

Did you try selecting the full range of the table before setting autofilter? If there are some blank lines its possibly not auto selecting the range of the table correctly.

Thanks Mark
I’ve tried selecting the whole file and copying to a new spreadsheet. Selected the whole file and changed the font. Copied one column and put in a fresh spreadsheet. There are no blank lines.

Are you able to post a sample that shows the problem?

I’m reluctant to post a sample as it is a church account spreadsheet and it’s the names column which is a problem. I’ve just tried to create a new spreadsheet with random data and that works fine!!
I am going to try using excel in the next week or so.
thanks anyway

late answer … sorry … i like! answered questions …

from the situation described i’s likely that the cells carry a ‘format’ with them … e.g. partly ‘text’ and partly ‘apostrophed text’ (like “test” vs. “'test”, where the apostroph isn’t shown, or some ar formatted as number, but have strings in them … or similar … note! it is not! sufficient to format the cells to a new style, they need to be touched afterwards for the format to take effect. (i dislike this behaviour, as it’s ‘trapping users’ in plenty situations, formerly had similar problems with ex$el, took me weeks and gave me headaches, but developers insisted it has to be kept like this).

is your problem solved?
