No Icons after successful install in Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS 64-bit

I downloaded both packages and installed them per the directions - as I have several times on several machines. On my VMware Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS 64-bit, it installed according to the sudo dpkg -i *.deb command output for both the installer and help packages.

However, there are no icons anywhere on my Main Menu. It also does not show installed in the Ubuntu Software center. If I attempt to re-install it, it does nothing claiming it’s installed. Double-clicking on a document of any type tells me that there is no software installed for this type of file.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Hi @Orion,

I believe that if you install from .debs, you should see the program appear as an option in the Ubuntu software center, etc…

If installing the latest release doesn’t seem to fix this problem, please file a bug and provide a list of steps that can reproduce your problem. The QA team will be happy to help you track down this issue!
