It is simply the sum of a column, but it just displays the formula and does not calculate. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 on a Dell Inspiron 1545. This is a spreadsheet that I derived from a downloaded CSV that was comma delimited. I removed those fields that were the title and description of the spreadsheet, leaving only columns. The column I’m trying to add is “currency” data type.
If a formula is displayed in a cell there can be two reasons:
- The formula is actually text and did not run through formula recognition.
- The option to display thze formulas instead of their results is chose. Look for the setting
under > ‘Tools’ > ‘Options’ > ‘LibreOffice Calc’ > ‘View’ > ‘Formulae’. This option must not be selected if you want to see results.
Concerning 1. : Make sure that the respective cells are not set to the fake ‘Numbers’ format ‘Text’ (code @).
