I am new to this office suit find everything good. But unfortunately I am facing problem in opening and .XLS file which I have downloaded from website. It goes on the text import wizard and showing the xml coding.

Are you trying to open in the browser?
Save the file to a local folder first. Check that the file extension is .xls in your file manager. If not then you might try to change the file extension to .xls. Then open the file from your file manager.
If you still have problem give more detail of your browser and operating system.
