how to get the borders (for main text footer header) - as it comes by default in OpenOffice Writer.

I am an OpenOffice User. I was recently adviced by my OpenSource Friends to ‘move to’ LibreOffice. I have today installed 5.2 ver of LibreOffice.

I use Writer - mainly for making Docs / Proposals. OpenOffice Writer gives me ‘borders’ all around the doc + for Header + for Footer - by default - which is missing in LibreOffice. How can I get these borders (just shown on the doc - but not printed). I need this - as I am so used to this. Please advice.

The only way to see the old and beloved full text boundaries is by activating the non printing characters (the button with the inverted “P”). Don’t ask me why, I do not understand this either. See this bug report for more details:

Bug 74386 - UI: Provide obvious way to turn full-page text boundaries on/off, independent from Show non printing characters

Thanks. But, this still does not give me the borders for Header & Footer. Your suggestion - only works for the main content - that too with so many inverted P.

The borders come by default in OpenOffice. Is there a work-around for this in LibreOffice ??

It seems that Libre and AOO diverge here; Libre only displays the borders for headers and footers when the cursor is in a header or footer. Not an improvement IMO.
