Frozen row still sorts?

I’m new to LibreOffice and am trying to compile information into the Calc program.

I have the information entered & have frozen the first row to ask as a header. However, the issue I am running into is that, when I attempt to sort the data, the frozen header row sorts itself into the data. I have looked around and found a few topics similar to this but I am not able to get any of them to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am utilizing LibreOffice 4.3.3.2

Thank you in advance.

From the menu “Data”, “Sort”, select the Options tab, then check the option for “Range contains column labels”.

I’m using LO 5.2.0.4, but I think this would still be similar on earlier versions.

Edit:
You can select top row and use menu “Data”, “Autofilter” to give drop down menu on the headers for sorting by one column, similar to Excel.

This actually works perfectly. Thanks, mark_t

I was hoping to actually find something comparable to Excel where it generates the drop menus so sorting can be done much faster. However, this will have to do for now…
