The last time I see speech to text addressed was with Windows 7 and 3.5. Is it too soon to have another look? It looks like Windows 10 speech recognition can execute commands on the menus, but can’t insert text.
Having the same problem - doesn’t even find Writer documents/files easily… hugely frustrating… is Dragon any better?
It works with MS Wordpad and then copied to Writer.
I found one response directing to Writer Setup to ck Supportive Assist Technology. I did and it worked for both Writer and Calc. SAT is still cked but I cannot replicate the results in Writer or Calc.
Try using Unified Remote, https://www.unifiedremote.com/. There are 2 components, one for your desktop/laptop that is the server and the other installs on your phone. After you setup the phone portion click on Basic Input and then click the keyboard icon. On your phone keyboard click the microphone to start the dictation. Make sure you have Writer and the server portion started already. Works really well.
