How to copy email text to a document

I am unable to copy text from my emails to documents

From which email app to which LO document type? What platform (Windows, GNU/Linux...)? Is it not enough to use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V?

Always paste the formatted texts by "Paste special - as Unformatted text" from a foreign source to any ODF documents.

Then format the pasted text by the Styles.

Depending on if you use a e-mailing program or check them in a browser. On one of my browser mails I have to click answer or foreward (and go into edit mode) to be able to mark and copy text.
