Align text on horizontal axis

I am trying to manually line up a couple of lines of text. I tried using the ruler to see at what point on the horizontal axis my cursor was located, but I didn’t see anything on the ruler moving around or showing me where the cursor was.

Is there a View option that will give me the info that I want? In MS Office there is a toolbar at the bottom that will tell you the vertical line, as well as horizontal column, that the cursor is on. Is there anything like this for LO?

That is what tabs are for!

Put a tab (or tabs) in each line and use it. These are the default tabs.

If in the wrong place, highlight the lines. Insert a bespoke LEFT tab on the top ruler (see manual or Help). Drag it to where you want it.
