How do I count the number of cells in a filtered column

I know this is a basic question, but I am a complete newbie and I need to know how I can count the number of cells in a filtered column? Please help!

Hi

=SUBTOTAL(3;A2:A10)
  • Where 3 represents the function to use as described in help.
  • Where A2:A10 is the range whose cells are included.

Note: adapt ; according to your Tools▸Options▸Calc▸Formula▸Separators
