Every time I try to open a document I have to use recovery mode.

Using windows 10. Libreoffice worked fine until a few days ago. It now will not open a document directly but has me do a recovery and then opens the document. Please help

your link does not the answer the question

If you cannot read answers in the linked question, which e.g., mention editing registrymodifications.xcu, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t answer the question.

It could be that OP had a different issue than described in that linked question. My question mas meant to try to help with what could - or could not - be relevant. The OP has never replied, so we don’t know. But if you have something which isn’t fixed by that advise, than it only means that you:

  1. don’t read rules of sites you use - because this site’s rules clearly state to not “Answer” others’ questions with what is not an answer, but is actually your own similar question;
  2. are impolite, declaring “your link does not the answer the question”, when in fact, all you know is you couldn’t use it to solve your question (and even that doesn’t necessarily mean the link is useless - it might well be you simply didn’t understand it).

using win 7 pro x64 libreoffice 6.2.2.2 x64 the answer above does not answer the issue. for example, every time i open calc, i get the recovery panel on whatever files were open when i previously closed calc. no matter that each file had been saved properly before closing calc. the file or files were unmodified, yet the next time i opened calc, i got the recovery panel. this makes no sense and the fact that this issue has been around for years is stunning! when are the smart engineers going to fix this issue or tell us what we are doing wrong???

Have you tried CLOSING each of the files after you saved it, but before you closed Calc?
