calc- edit cell- show color border on references to other cells

When I edit a formula in some cells, LO displays a colored outline around the cells used as references in the formula that I’m editing. In other cells, it does NOT do this. For example, if I create a formula using the “sum” function, the referenced cells are outlined on edit.

There must be an option, preference, or other switch to turn this on + off. Where do I find that?
thanks in advance.

From the menu Tools->Options then:

It’s the Show references in color selection.

Edit:

Don’t see another setting and can’t duplicate your statement:

Got it - thanks much. Having checked that box, here’s what I’m seeing:

It works if the formula is input like: =SUM(H11:H12)
It does NOT appear to work if the formula is input as: =SUM(‘SheetName’.H11:H12)
… even when the cell to which it refers, is on the same sheet as the cell which contains the formula.

I can go thru and change the references when I want to see the references. Just wondering if I’m missing something else.

thanks again.

hope you can help
thanks!

Hello, You should not ask a question as an answer. Use comment. However, except for first closing all open LO files first & then checking, I don’t see where your problem is. Perhaps ask as a new question.
