How to stop libreoffice from scanning hard drive for documents?

When I open LO it seems to scan my entire hard drive for documents and then pops up with random documents to choose from - how do I stop that?

LO opens quickly, but then takes forever to bring up the random unrelated documents. Plus, it gives an error each time that a specific folder no longer exists. It’s a folder that I deleted long before I even installed LO.

How do I stop LO from looking for documents when it opens? Or at least how to I focus it’s scanning?
If I know how to focus it’s scanning I’ll create an empty folder for it to scan.

Try clearing the Recent Documents List in File > Recent documents.

Close LO. Search for any .~lock*.* files and delete them. They are hidden files - you may need to Show hidden files and folders in Control Panel > Folder Options > View.
