calc Tools-Options menu absent

[RESOLVED] - Unity desktop issue / user issue apparently - nothing to see here.

Am surprised to find when I start Calc and (trying to turn off the stupid feature that capitalizes after every . ) go to Tools in the menu, and then Options, that the following happens: nothing whatsoever

Please advise! I am not that great at Ubuntu that I know where to start with this one. The other weird thing that seems almost 10% as impossible is that when I right-click on any web link, the popup menu usually disappears unless I really beg it to be there. I have to right-click with complete conviction, then it works.

By the way: Ubuntu 12.10, Unity desktop (pretty ugh - desktop wars are bad - I read on Knuth’s page that f- whatever it was is good though)

This persists after I exited out of Calc and other LibreOffice apps and started up Calc again. Also I attempted to fix it by editing Language properties in the Writer app, and I can do that OK (the menu in the Writer app produces the dialog as promised), but it doesn’t have any effect on Calc.

Thank you for your help!

P.S. NEVER MIND! - it got better when I rebooted.
