Using Writer, how can I center the page number in the footer?

Using Writer in Libre 5.2, how can I center the page number in the footer? This isn’t covered in the help and I tried everything I could think of.

1. Place Cursor in the Footer Area.
2. Choose Format… Page…
3. Choose “Center Horizontally”, (Ctrl+E).
4. Choose Insert… Fields… Page Number.

Press Tab with the cursor in the footer, it will jump to a centered tab position.
