Images imbedded in word docs are replaced by icons

When opening Word documents created in MS Office, images have been replaced by a small icon in the upper left corner titled Image1, image2 and so on. This could be a result of changing from MS Office to Libreoffice?
Clicking on it brings up a list of tabs titled:
“Type” “Options” “Wrap” “Image” “Crop” “Borders” “Area” “Transparency” “Macro.”
Selecting the “Image” tab shows a box with the image in it and some tools such as > Flip, vertically, horizontally, On all pages, on left pages and so on.
How do I restore the images to these doc’s?
Thanks

You probably have display of graphics and objects turned off in Libre. Check Tools - Options - Writer - View tab.

FANTASTIC!!! It’s just a matter of Knowing. I was so frustrated.
I have always used LIBO (444 for many years) just upgraded to 526 this week. Slow to start - old geriatric.
An ex WordPerfect chap, I refused to use MS anything where possible. LO was by far SUPERIOR.
I am a pensioner, but have donated a little TWICE. You should all know how very much I appreciate all your stirling efforts. Thank you so absolutely… Thank you all. Cheerio from Charles Bassett.
