Conditional formatting ranges get massacred from editing/working with sheet

Heya,

My Calc sheet utilizes conditional formatting quite heavily and is also being continuously updated and expanded. After said updates and expansions, instead of having a few nicely defined range rules under “Conditional Formatting Rules”, I’m left with tens of thousands of individual cell rules (one for D597, one for D598, one for D599, etc. etc. etc. – utterly impossible to update or work with). Current solution is to wipe all rules and redefine from scratch… but that’s quite a monotonous waste of time.

Save me?

See bug report tdf#95295.

To avoid the problem as long as the bug is not fixed you may calculate the condition in a helper column and apply dedicated cell styles with the help of the STYLE function. However, this is only applicable with formula results, and it does not just overlay style properties but actually assign the different cell style to the cells concerned.
